I'll sort this out eventually. I'm in the research phase at this point. The goals are two-phased:

APRS on 2m as a community service:

• 2m igate base station possibly with digipeater capability
• tall high-gain 2m omni for good listening (Diamond products looks good for this)
• listening more important than transmitting - might just use a cheap handheld or older used 2m transceiver (or maybe even just a scanner?)
• Very minimal computer - possibly a RasberryPi or other small embedded product

APRS on HF:

• 10m listening post for GPS position updates from sailboat
• Tie this into the same host serving APRS on 2m?
